Shaun Murray

Shaun Murray is a professional horn player, teacher, and founding member of the Austin Horn Camp. Since moving to Austin, he has built up a private studio of over fifty students in Leander, Liberty Hill, Round Rock, and Georgetown with students finding success from District Band all the way to TMEA 6A All-State.

Mr. Murray has performed with the Austin Symphony Orchestra, Austin Brass Collective, the Johnstown Symphony, the Ohio River Valley Chorale, and the National Orchestral Institute as principal horn on Mahler Symphony No. 5. Mr. Murray holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Lynn Conservatory of Music in Boca Raton, FL, and both a Master’s degree and Advanced Musical Studies Certificate from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. His primary teachers include Gregory Miller of the Empire Brass and William Caballero of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
